Stephenisms II

SCA: "I really like Conner."

Me: "Why Stephen?"

SCA: "Because he talks cool. He can't think of what he wants to say, and then he just says it!"

Conner stutters.

Stephenisms I

As I am in the car "explaining to" (all you Mom's can read the code here, right?) my children that people don't think it's cute when they are fresh in public Stephen pipes up with:

"Yes, they do. Because I am little."

Oh boy - how much trouble do you think I am going to be in with him? It's a scary thing when they know they are cute....

Tyler The Public Speaker

Each day Tyler proves to be more and more like his Dad. He had the longest speaking part in the pagent yesterday and he spoke beautifully. Emma and the other children were all so cute as well.

I said he sounded just like Linus in A Charlie Brown Christmas - I mean it as a compliement. Juliana led in the angels, and Dominic was the cutest angel and very serious about his singing. Especially the "oooooooo"s. I don't know how they get all those 6 year old boys to wear those robes and tinsle on their heads. I can't even imagine Stephen putting up with that next year!

Tyler looked very handsome in his pink shirt and tie. He had to tell everyone - including the principal, that we had to go to Kohl's at 7 am to buy him clothes to wear, because somehow he grew overnight and NOTHING fit him! So much for looking like the Organized Mother.

Thank goodness Kohl's are open early for Christmas. By the way, Target is not. The man at the register must have thought I was crazy, showing up ripping tags off the clothes Tyler was wearing and asking him to ring them up. But we made it to school 10 minutes before the bell and he looked very sharp - again, more and more like his Dad.

Our Tree

Here are a few pictures of our tree - we still don't have a great one yet, but you get the idea.

We Make Gingerbread!

I made 16 gingerbread houses for Stephen's class to decorate today for their school Christmas party. The kids had a great time decorating and they came out very cute!

Tyler's pagent is this afternoon - we had to run to Kohl's thismorning at 7am to buy him clothes because he has suddenly outgrown everything in his closet! We were able to shop, get him dressed and get the boys to school before 8am. At least now I know he has something to wear for Christmas.

Ford Modeling should be calling us any day now...

Okay - so any day now these photos will fall into the hands of someone at Ford Modeling Agency and they will be beating our door down with Gap, Old Navy and other offers for modeling contracts. I mean really - how cool are we?

And for those of you "In The Know" - Volume 4 is on it's way. Tiago is very proud of this year's production. He started working on it the day after Christmas last year! I swear the list gets longer each year - if you don't think you are on it and want to be - let me know before this year's supply is gone.

A New Kean Arrived and Another on the Way!

My cousin Jessica had her baby - Ryan Kean Bridges, so beautiful! Got his picture yesterday and he is a DOLL! Still think his name should have been London or Covered though. I liked Burnyer too - think about that one, it'll come to you. Sorry, can't stop that Kean humor, it's a curse.

My cousin Regina's baby shower was lovely, another wonderful job by Rosemary coordinating it all. Regina looked very cute, I wish I had pictures of shower and baby, check out the links to EastCoastGirl or NYCMama for photos! Boy the cousin's have been busy! There are a few more of you newlyweds out there - get crackin'!

Here is the cake and invite:

Winter Wonderland Wedding

Gab and Mike were married in a beautiful Christmas setting with soft snowfall all around and angels singing in the starlight...

Okay - so there was no snow, and it did rain. But only a little bit, just enough for a fabulous Kodak moment (which everyone missed because we were all in the limo with no cameras) when the limo driver Steve swept Gab into his arms and carried her into the limo because I would not let her walk in the rain with her shoes on. It was fabulous! Steve was great. So was Stan The Man - Photographer Extrordenaire! Can wait to see his pictures.
No angles singing either - but the soloist at the church was superb - and we bridesmaids floated down the isle like angels and Gab was as beautiful as she could ever be! Simply gorgeous! Okay Mike - you were pretty too!

Cake came out fab, centerpieces as well - wedding and reception were really great. So happy for the little family! Here are Gab and I at the reception - Adrianna was wiped out!

How much turkey can YOU eat?

Okay some catching up to do! Thanksgiving week update...
I finished the centerpieces for Gab's wedding Monday, Wednesday - Bread Feast with Stephen's class at school, Tyler's class sponsored the prayer service at school and of course Thanksgiving.
Went to Flanagan Drive in the morning, Mom and Dad slaved over the meal! Okay, we bought it all from Boston Market - the turkeys were amazingly moist! We sang Happy Birthday to Dad and Johnny, the kids ran around like crazy, Elizabeth got into the hair gel, Pam worked the bar and made the Margaritas, Mom dished out the Chocolate Choo Choo Train, I attempeted fudge, with not much luck (although Tyler liked it) - fun time was had by all.
Then we headed off to Milford for Round Two. Turkey, ham, stuffing, all over again. The kids decorated the tree (it only fell twice, not too bad) while Tiago, Brian and Jose played Portugese Roulette. Spin the bottle dispenser at the bar and take a shot. Very scary when you realize that J&B and Ernest and Jullio Gallo do NOT make CLEAR liquids! They lucked out with Brandy on the first shot. Tiago did a shot with the girls on the next round - lucky for him since the next spin landed on a very scary clear bottle! The cuckoo sounded off 2 more times before Brian and Jose called it quits on that game...

Tyler Scores Goals

Tyler scored 2 goals and had 2 assists in his hockey game Saturday. I was scrapbooking all day so I missed the game. Saw him play Sunday night - 1 goal, 1 assist - but with all the plays he set up he should have had way more assists than that. He rocks.

Here he is with his buddies at the Sharks game for his birthday.

Monster Truck Bash

We had a super birthday party for Stephen on Tuesday since the kids had no school so everyone could vote - go figure. The kids ran around the indoor lacrosse center in the back of the warehouse, Tiago organized t-ball, they jumped in the moonwalk and generally had a great time.

Stephen was very specific about what he wanted on his cake. Lots of monster trucks and he wanted the cake "fired" and the truck "fired".

He was VERY disapointed that Jillian could not attend - a trip to the movies with her is in the works to console him.

All of our pictures came out awful, I have one more camera to check to see if we got a few good shots.

We Make Wine

Tiago and the boys made wine with Vovo this year - we all took turns throwing the grapes into the crusher - Tyler did not believe it was once done by foot.

Tyler helped mash the grapes down a bit more, now we wait a week or so until the skins and stems rise, then it's on to step two.

Stephen helped get the bottles ready - yes he did get his hands on the hose - yes Vovo did get soaked. My father in law makes great wine. But you really don't want to be there to see the process. Really.

This is what you get as your reward for making the wine. Nothing like freshly boiled octopus! Mmmmm! You know you want some.

I Make Cappuccino!

Got this great stove top cappa maker for my birthday! So now I can make myself a cup while listening to my new Sirrus Radio! Yahoo!

Had a lovely birthday dinner made by my BEST friend - very rare I can just sit and wait for the meal, took complete advantage of that by the fire - and molten lava cake yum! Lots of birthday cards with shoes on them as well - hmmmm, maybe I need to go shopping? My favorite goddaughter wished me a happy 28th birthday *wink* *wink* We all KNOW I am 29 this year - just ask Tyler.

I Make Cakes

Okay - so I make cakes too. This is not a "we" thing, it's a "me" thing. Although the boys do manage to make me a cake for my birthday each year - guess what? According to Tyler I will be 29 this year - AGAIN! That boy is so smart, sometimes I wonder how he can be so clueless. Gotta love him!

Here are a few recent ones:

My cousin Jessica's Baby shower (thanks to Aunt Val and cousin Ro for help with the cupakes!)

My girlfriend Gab's Bridal shower

My girlfriend Jenn's Wedding

Green Day Goes Trick or Treating

The Kids and Tiago dressed as Green Day this year and I had to be a groupie of course. The girls at Hot Topic at the mall (punk store I have no right going into) thought it was great and helped me pick out my outfit - I am hoping to get a better picture of it soon, you can't see the fishnets and army boots in this pic.

Tyler - Billie Joe
Stephen - Tre Cool
Tiago - Mike Dirnt

They looked very cool - Tyler and Stephen have been planning this costume since the Bullet in a Bible DVD came out last summer.
What can I say - my kids are hip!

Actual Green Day photo for comparison
I think Tyler really got Billie Joe down!

Finally blogging - how long will it last?

Okay - so finally came up with a suitable "cool" name for my Blog. "NoTimeForThis" was taken by the way.

How long before I stop posting altogether?
